GEYER VALMONT has transformed Alcon’s Sydney workplace, the global leader in eye care. The design successfully embodies the Alcon brand and leadership positioning, facilitating an elevated experience for their team, and the partnering medical community.
The objective was to create an environment that not only showcases Alcon’s cutting-edge medical devices and technology but also provides an inviting space that enhances the client experience, and enables the medical community to collaborate, learn and innovate. For the Alcon team, it was important to provide a motivating and inviting space that incorporated aspects of the natural environment, resulting in increased desk occupancy and employee wellbeing.
From the moment visitors arrive, they are greeted with a sense of welcome and comfort, and a design aesthetic that reflects Alcon’s market-leading brand identity. Geyer’s design is inspired by Alcon’s signature blues and whites, complemented by a warm colour palette and natural materials that extend through training rooms, individual workstations, and collaborative meeting spaces. A unique design motif of intricate circles creates a cohesive seamless flow, as one navigates through the variety of spaces.
At the heart of the space lies the communal Town Hall space and pantry. This versatile area can be transformed for special events or presentations, while also serving as a welcoming hub for teams, clients, and partners to enjoy casual lunches in a relaxed setting.
Local Indigenous art pieces are thoughtfully integrated throughout the space, fostering a connection to place. Functionality meets artistry in meticulously designed lockers and storage solutions, ensuring that workspaces remain tidy and ready for any occasion.
GEYER VALMONT’s thoughtful design ethos ensured a strategic approach to adaptive re-use including lockers and storage units, minimising waste and maximising resources.
