Wisr required a client experience that reflected their brand and set them apart, and their workplace needed to deliver on that vision.
As an Australian consumer fintech, Wisr is on a mission to power people’s progress towards whatever matters to them. The fintech’s unique, think-outside-the-box personality inspired every move we made across this 1,100sqm workplace on Level 9 of Merchant House in Sydney’s CBD.
Curves, colour, and cleverness define the fit-out. From soft, rounded forms and cheeky gestures to unexpected material moments, the space captures the essence of the Wisr brand – bright, optimistic, and a little unconventional. Even the utilities area doubles as a storytelling moment: visitors quite literally “walk through someone’s head,” a curved form inspired by Wisr’s brand line, “For your smart part,” and their brain logo.
Custom acoustic panels wrap the kitchen entry, blending function and branding – every functional element doubled as an opportunity for brand expression.
As a finance company, security and compliance were essential. A custom transparent screen and bespoke curved security door were designed to control access between the terrace and workplace, maintaining security without compromising transparency or natural flow. Our design and construction teams collaborated regularly on-site with steel fabricators and joiners to develop creative, buildable solutions. Without this integrated effort, the outcome could have been prohibitively costly and technically unfeasible. The result is a security solution that feels effortless and adaptable, supporting both compliance and flexibility, and enabling the space to transform for town halls and social moments.
Wisr’s branding and employee experience teams were deeply hands-on. We co-created with James Goodwin, Chief Growth Officer, and Shamanthi Rajasingham, Senior Brand Designer, who reviewed every element – right down to laminate shades and signage tone. Kate Renner, Head of Employee Experience, was instrumental in aligning the spatial strategy with Wisr’s people-first culture, ensuring the design supported the employee journey as much as the brand identity. This open collaboration fostered creativity and ensured strong alignment with the brief.
Wisr’s new Sydney headquarters proves that when design, construction, culture, and brand are in sync – ideas become the most impactful. It’s a space that makes people smile, invites conversation, and walks the talk (literally) of a company doing finance differently.
