Following the success of their Melbourne workplace, we partnered with Arcadis to deliver their Brisbane workplace as a next step in their ongoing commitment to sustainability, workplace performance, and cultural integration.
From the outset, the project targeted the highest level of Green Star certification, with a shared ambition to deliver a high‑performing interior that aligns global sustainability leadership with a strong response to place.
Now certified as a 6 Star Green Star – Interiors, Arcadis Brisbane recognises excellence in environmentally sustainable workplace design and demonstrates how rigorous sustainability outcomes can be achieved through considered design, collaboration, and technical clarity.
From concept through to delivery, sustainability principles informed every aspect of the design process. Working within the Green Star framework, materials, finishes, and construction methodologies were carefully assessed to meet rigorous environmental performance criteria. This ensured both the visible and unseen elements of the workplace contribute to a healthier interior environment and reduced environmental impact.
Responding to its Queensland context, the workplace draws inspiration from the surrounding natural landscape and regional vernacular. Organic forms, natural textures, and warm, earthy tones create a welcoming environment with a clear sense of place. Spatial planning supports an intuitive workplace journey, with a legible sense of arrival, seamless circulation, and a range of settings designed to support collaboration, social connection, and focused, high‑performance work.
The project was delivered through a highly collaborative process, supported by external ESD consultant Karen Hovenega, who worked closely with Arcadis and GEYER VALMONT to navigate the Green Star framework. Her strategic guidance and technical oversight supported sustainability outcomes throughout the design and delivery phases.
GEYER VALMONT’s integrated delivery approach enabled the team to manage an accelerated program and complex technical requirements without compromising design intent or performance outcomes. This included achieving Arcadis’ acoustic performance objectives, alongside the detailed documentation and quality assurance processes required to secure certification.
The result is a workplace that reflects Arcadis’ values and demonstrates how considered design leadership, technical rigour, and collaboration can deliver meaningful sustainability outcomes while maintaining a high‑quality, user‑focused workplace experience.
